Mélissa Alvès 3-0 Grace Gear11-7,

Sans trop de suspens, Mélissa Alvès remporte le tournoi
International féminin du Val de Marne.
La Cristolienne était clairement au dessus de son
adversaire, l’anglaise Grace Gear mais c’est l’anglaise qui
a mieux débuté le match en enchaînant d excellents amorties.
Mélissa remporte néanmoins le 1er jeu qui l’a libéré du
stress de la finale pour l restant du match.
Alternant de grosses frappes puissantes et des amorties
brillants, elle s’impose en 25 minutes pour le plus grand
plaisir des spectateurs.
C’est la 3ème Cristolienne a remporté le tournoi après
Camille Serme et Coline Aumard, Énora Villard ayant atteint
la finale l’an passé.
A noter que cette victoire est synonyme de qualification
pour les Championnats du monde Individuels de Chicago en
févrie.
Que du bonheur pour la Valdemarnaise !

EN FRANCAIS - Finale Franco-Britannique !
Mélissa Alves face à Grace Gear, c’est la
finale qui se déroulera demain à partir de 14h00. Les deux
joueuses ont du s’employer pour atteindre cette finale.
La Cristolienne Mélissa Alves était face à l’espoir
égyptien, la jeune Jana Shiha, dernièrement demi-finaliste
des championnats du monde junior.
Le match a été très serré avec beaucoup de demandes de let…
La française réalise son meilleur match du tournoi.
Elle a joué avec beaucoup de puissance et a saisi la moindre
opportunité pour attaquer.
Elle sera opposée demain à l’anglaise Gear qui s’impose sur
une autre anglaise, Raphaël Chadwick en 4 jeux. Cette
dernière a eu du mal à se contrôler et s’est frustrée durant
le match.

30th November, Quarters : The
upsets keep coming fast from Créteil with English Rachael
Chadwick being the only favourite to make it through to the
semis!
On the Egyptian front, it was young Jana Shiha - who
represented Egypt in the Buenos Aires Youth Olympic - who
ousted her compatriot and seed 1 Menna Hamed in 4 games and
35m.
On the "French" front - as Anna Serme is married to a French
player Lucas - it was another upset as Melissa Alves
overcame her Créteil friend again 3/1 and 33m.
And on the English front, it was the lower seed Grace Gear
that beat Kace Bartley in three short games, 22m.
Rachael Chadwick, only seed survivor beat Scott Georgia
Adderley 3/1 in the longest match of the day 36m - short
times of the matches could find an explanation in the cold
conditions on the US Créteil glasscourt.
Tonight, the semis will see Jana face Melissa, while Rachael
will play Grace. |

29th November, Round 2 Trio of upsets in Val
de Marne round two in Paris as Alves keeps home hopes alive
Round Two of the Val de Narne in Paris the top eight
seeds enter the fray, and while the top four seeds made it
safely through, three unseeded players joined them in the
last eight.
Home favourite Melissa Alves beat fifth seed Tessa
ter Sluis in four games and will meet fourth seeded Czech
Anna Serme for a place in the semis.
Egyptian junior Jana Shiha beat England's Jasmine
Hutton in the longest match of the day (40m) and now faces
compatriot and top seed Menna Hamed in the quarters.
So an Egyptian semi-finalist is garanteed.
Scotland's Georgina Adderley beat Spain's Ctristina
Gomez - also in four games - to set up a meeting with second
seeded Englishwoman Rachael Chadwick, who beat
wildcard Fanny Segers who managed to clinch a game from the
#2 seed.
The fourth quarter-finals will be an all-English
affair betweer third and eighth seeds Kace Bartley
and Grace Gear. Bartley needed all five games to get
past wildcard Marie Stephan while Gear eased through against
Iran's Taba Taghavi Rafsanjani.
A big squash day tomorrow in the US Creteil club as two
rounds will be played for the pleasure of the spectators!
