LUCAS' THE NAME....
Serme, yes, but Lucas, not that one you are used
to hear about. That's the brother of, maybe one day, you'll come
to say, ah, Camille, the sister of... Who knows...
 Today,
no miracle for the Réunion Man, Christophe André, who did
pretty good for his first ever PSA - he joined the Tour on the
1st January 2013!!!!!
Lucas, not on the top of his form "playing two matches per day,
not easy, happy to win, but tired!!!!" after a lot of exams,
still had the experience to impose his game on the "new comer",
who may make himself known if he can keep the training he is
doing with Thomas Adriaens (one of the French physical coaches)
and Renan Lavigne, knew addition to the French National Team as
coach this time.
As Vincent Colomb stated at the end, "Fred Lecomte asked us to
include Christophe as our Wild Card in our tournament. He showed
this weekend he did belong".

Je suis déçu, forcément, je ne suis pas
parvenu à assurer deux gros matches de suite, mais c'est ça,
l'expérience! Niveau physique, je ne pouvais pas suivre, je pense
que j'ai payé le match de hier....
Je voudrais remercier Franck Sabourin, qui me sponsorise pour ma
licence PSA, sans lui, je n'aurai pas pu la prendre, et bien sûr,
Thomas et Renan, sans oublier ma femme, Alizée...

Cela fait 3, 4 ans que je venais,
toujours agréable de revenir ici, on revoit des gens qu'on n'a pas
vu depuis longtemps, c'est pour ça que c'est génial d'organiser
aussi un national et un régional.
Difficile de faire deux match par jour, on le voit à la finale, on
est tous un peu fatigués, mais c'est l'expérience qui rentre!!!
Merci à Vincent et toute son équipe, c'est vraiment un tournoi
génial, mon premier PSA5 en France, très content. Fatigué, mais
content!!!!
Un petit merci en passant à la famille Nouguier, et aussi à mon
coach, Hadrian Stiff... The work is starting to pay off..

J'étais un peu étonné par le fait que Zahed soit aussi fatigué que
moi, parce que Mohamed [Shorbagy] s'entraîne souvent avec lui à
Alexandria, et il aime bien jouer avec lui, parce qu'il a un super
physique et qu'il n'est jamais fatigué!!!! Donc, oui, s'il a la
crève, tout s'explique...
Comme je m'entraîne souvent avec Mohamed et Marwan, forcément, je
vois ce qu'ils font, je passe ma vie à aller chercher leurs
amorties, et je vois que leur jeu est efficace, et leur classement
qui s'améliore de minute en minute. Alors forcément, je m'inspire de
leur jeu pour le mien.
En plus, notre entraîneur Hadrian Stiff a la même mentalité,
construire au fond, bien sûr, mais éviter les échanges qui n'en
finissent pas, et se concentrer sur le jeu d'attaque.
Mais je trouve que, comme ma sœur, je complique trop les choses, il
faut que je joue droit et simple... Pas me compliquer trop la vie...
On s'entraîne souvent ensemble, donc on connaît nos jeux respectifs,
ça facilite les choses.
Il a eu un accident de voiture tout récemment, et ça a sûrement
joué, niveau préparation!
Mais moi, je pense avoir bien joué, même si je me sens bien fatigué,
là. Allez, faut continuer....
J'ai un peu manqué d'entraînement,
je n'ai pas pu enchaîner deux gros matches.
Et si lui aussi a eu des gros matches hier, il a réussi à mieux
gérer la fatigue que moi, même s'il n'était pas très frais non
plus!!!

MORNING OF UPSETS
 Zahed
Mohamed, a very nice Egyptian player that I saw play
against Mathieu Castagnet in El Gouna-Alexandria 2012, was not
at the top of his form today. When he arrived at the club, he
was grey, and dark circles under the eyes. He has a bad cold,
and no offence to Lucas Serme, was really not at the top
of his form - I guess the palava journey didn't help either.
Lucas was not at his top either, mind. When a player goes and
ask if the tournament doctor has got bandage for a bad right
ankle minutes you start a semi, you know you have a problem on
your hands!
 Lucas
played one of the best matches I have seen him play - I didn't
see him for a while I have to admit, and I was nicely impressed
with his short game - thanks Shorbagys Bros!!!! Well, when you
have the chance to train day in day out with one of most
efficient attackers on the circuit, something has got to rub on
you, eventually surely!!!!
Joke appart, I really enjoyed watching Lucas today. He never got
discouraged by Zahed lovely nicks all over the place, or didn't
mind winning the point 25 times per rallies courtesy of stunning
retreiving from the Egyptian!
 I
guess the whole match is in the first game, Zahed is dominating,
game ball 10/8 after a close 6/6, 7/7, 8/8, and basically, the
Egyptian goes for far too short far too early on a high tin
court, because he knows he doesn't have his normal energy
reserves in the tank.
The Egyptian did extremely to come back in the 3rd and 4th,
playing some superb Egyptian-style squash that whooooooed and
whaaaaaed French people avid for more. But Lucas had just too
much touch and gas in the 5th, and from 4/4, it was all about
the local favourite....
 As
for Christophe versus Joan, what can I say.
Joan had a bit of a car crash a little while ago, and had his
neck immobilised for 5 days, that bad....
So, probably not at the best of his physical form, and a bit
overwhelmed by Christophe's calm and presence on court it seemed.
 And
that what really impressed me about the Réunion man. His
composure on court, not an emotional outburst, no frustration
when playing a bad shot or excitment when playing his sublime
volley drop shots out of nowhere. Felt like he had done that
kind of matches/results all his life bless him.
Superb performance really from Christophe, the score line is
"sans appel".
