Aucun problème pour Christophe dans le premier 1/4 de
finale contre le jeune Auguste Dussourd, un match un peu à sens
unique.
Bon début de match de Victor mais par la suite Rui se
montra plus précis et déplaça Victor de plus en plus. Rui a
beaucoup mieux joué que ce matin et Victor un peu moins bien.
Très beau match dans les deux premiers jeux entre Oliver
et le jeune Benjamin, mais Benjamin y a laissé trop
d'énergie. Olivier est toujours là avec son jeu rapide et
précis.

No trouble for Christophe André in the first quarter against
young French hope Auguste Dussourd, a bit too one sided to be
any threat for Christophe.
Victor Crouin, another young player from France, did a very good
first game, but the Portuguese managed to move him better and
better as the match went along. Rui raised his game
compared to this morning, while Victor dropped a bit.
Meanwhile, Oliver just rolls along, two very good first
games but young Ben (trains with Victor, just a bit older) was
by then a bit tired.

1st Round: Not a good day for the Seeds...
And the day starts with a major upset as Seed #1 Ammar
Altamimi just made far too many errors to take French
Favourite Christophe André out of his comfort zone...
It follows with another upset - not as impressive but still - as
young Frenchman Auguste Dussourd takes out Tristan
Eysele from South Africa. Which means of course there will
be a Frenchman in the semis....
Jonas Daehler made Miles Jenkings run a heck of a
lot in the first two games, and got the dividends in the 3rd and
4th, losing only 3 points in the last 2 games!
If the game of Robert Dadds doesn't seem that flashy, it
is bleeping effective, as he keeps quietly beating everybody
since he arrived! Today, although he always seems on the verge
of collapsing physically, he manages to stay in the rallies and
ousted Manuel Wanner, playing an accurate game the Swiss
didn't have a solution to....
Adrien Grondin finally hit the wall bless him after
having battled all the way through qualifying. He managed to
lead 2/0 today against Rui Soares, but he didn't have
much left in the tank in the third, 11/0, but kept fighting til
the end, 7, 7.
As for the last two results, I guess Fred Lecomte and his team
in Aix en Provence will be mighty proud as Victor Crouin - only
French quarterfinalist in Sheffield a few days ago in the BJO -
and Benjamin Aubert created two other upsets, eliminating Sean
Conroy and Richard Williams respectively.
And why stopping the upsets when you can have one more,
Olivier Pett, the Return!!! He keeps killing everybody with
calm and composure.... His last victim, Seed #2, Ben Fisher,
was forced to make more and more unforced errors...
Mauvais jour pour les Têtes de Série!!!
Malgré un temps pluvieux ici à Nîmes, l'ambiance est chaleureuse
dans le club et on sent les bonnes résolutions d'après fête sur
les courts.
A l'heure ou la plupart des participants du régional homme se
battent pour ne pas sombrer dans une sieste léthargique post
ingurgitation de pasta, les filles du national commencent à
arriver.
Pour l'instant on se fait la bise , on se partage les vœux pour
la nouvelle année, on râle pour les horaires de squashnet qui ne
sont pas valides., on check les jupettes...bref on laisse les
bons sentiments en dehors du court avant de faire parler la
poudre sur les parquets.
Du coté du PSA, ça enchaine et après le passage en quart
d'Auguste Dussourd et de Christophe André à l'aube , on va
assister aux matchs d'Adrien Grondin et de Victor Crouin,
brillamment sortis des qualifs.en leur souhaitant la même issue.
Robert Dadds n'est pas très impressionnant mais depuis
hier : il gagne. Après être passé très près d'un 5 eme jeux
contre Sébastien Bonmalais, il a étouffé progressivement Manu
Wanner avec un jeu précis. Il semble toujours à la limite
physiquement mais pourtant ne baisse pas de rythme.
Adrien Grondin est grand, mais pas assez pour battre
Rui Soares qui mené 0/2 a du s'employer pour revenir à 2/2
Adrien a bataillé en donnant tout ce qu'il lui restait de forces
dans 5e mais les 2 matchs de la veille ont pesé trop lourd et
Rui s'impose logiquement.
Victor s'impose sans souci. Pas de suspense dans ce match
dominé de bout en bout par Victor qui semble avoir retrouvé tout
son physique et son jeu. Tandis que Benjamin a
complètement étouffé Richard qui n'a pas pu développer son jeu
de contre.
Pas de problème pour Oliver qui continue sa balade de santé,
Benjamin se sentant impuissant a fait de plus en plus de fautes
